Cop arrests pickpocket; 2 run away

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Quick police response resulted in the arrest
of a suspect who pick-pocketed a woman along km 4, Barangay Pico of this
capital town Wednesday.
Based on report submitted to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Mafelino A. Bazar, the suspect was identified as Mark Roel Santos Guiterrez, 19, resident of San Carlos Heights, Baguio City, around 6 km from here.
The La Trinidad Municipal Police Station reported the victim was walking in front of a bank along km 4, Pico, when three men came from behind and snatched her cell phone and wallet containing money and identification cards.
The victim chased the suspects towards km 5 while shouting for help.
This caught the attention of Cpl. Unobre F. Libiado, who at that time was managing traffic.
Liniado chased and arrested one of the suspects while the other two suspects ran and evaded arrest.
Guiterrez is now under custody of La Trinidad MPS and will be facing charges for theft.
Police operations were being at press time to apprehend the two other suspects who were identified, the regional police information office said.
