2 held for drugs; P2.8- M marijuana burned

Trinidad, Benguet -- Police arrested two drug personalities in buy-bust
operations here and Baguio City.
Reports submitted to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Mafelino A. Bazar identified suspects as Jhunby Diaz, 40 and Romeo Mocay, Jr., 35.
Diaz was arrested city police and Regional Intelligence Division in Burnham-Legarda, Baguio after he sold two sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 1.7 grams worth P11, 560 to a police officer who posed as buyer.
In Benguet, Mocay was arrested by operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and La Trinidad police after he sold sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.20 grams valued at P1,360 to a cop who also acted as buyer.
The inventory of confiscated items was witnessed by arrested suspects and by representatives from Dept. of Justice, media, and barangay officials.
The suspects and confiscated items were brought to the custody of operating units for documentation.
Suspects will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the continuous search of cops for clandestine marijuana plantations in Cordillera resulted in discovery of 20,000 grams of dried marijuana and 2,350 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants all worth P2,870,000 in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, and Barangay Pudong, Kapangan, both towns in Benguet.
All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned at site.
