Five Mt Province students pass Phil. Science scholarship
BONTOC, Mountain Province – Five pupils from the province passed the second and final screening of the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Scholarship Exam held last Dec. 15 at Baguio City.
Provincial science and technology officer Norberto Cobaldez identified the successful examinees as Dixie Dawn Fagyan Apigo of the All Saints Elementary School, Bontoc; Chariz L. Ballada of Bila Elementary School, Bila, Bauko; Kate Tumapang Kollin and Amy Lee Bete Solang both from Sagada Central School; and Langsa Eday Tuguinay of Bangaan Elementary School of Bangaan, Sagada.
Cobaldez said the pupils will be attending school this coming June at the Cagayan Valley Campus in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
It is the only PSHS campus nearest to Mt. Province since there is no PSHS Campus in the Cordillera.
The scholarship program is open to graduating elementary pupils who belong to the upper ten percent of the school batch as certified by the school principal or have special aptitude in science and math as supported by report card and letter of recommendation. – Juliet B. Saley
