Love triangle eyed in slay of La Union dad

BALAOAN, La Union – A love triangle or personal grudge is now being investigated by police as motives in the killing of a village councilor here night of June 18. Supt. Roel Lami-ing, the town’s police chief, identified the victim as Renato Comadre, 44, married and councilor of Barangay Nalasin.

Comadre was reportedly attending a birthday celebration in Barangay Baracbac Oeste this town when he was shot pointblank around 10 p.m. by an unidentified suspect who riddled his head with bullets of a .Cal. 45 pistol. while the victim had a drinking spree with barangay tanods and kagawads.

“His face could hardly be distinguished because his head was riddled with bullets.
There were seven empty shells recovered in the area and four slugs of .45 caliber,” Lam-ing said.

The gunman allegedly went near their table and immediately shot him causing his companions to run away. Lami-ing said they are exhausting all efforts to solve the case immediately because there were good leads in the initial investigation.
