PAPI to tackle culture, tourism, environment issues in Boracay meet
BORACAY- The Publishers Association of the Philipines, Inc. (PAPI) will hold a media summit with the theme “Expanding role of media in the preservation of culture, the promotion of tourism, and the protection of the environment” at the Boracay Regency, Boracay Island on Oct. 29-31.
In cooperation with the National Commision for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Boracay Foundation, Inc., and ht Aklan Press Club, Inc., the summit will feature seminar, workshop, roundtable conference, cultural shows, tourism exhibits and raffle games.
PAPI president Juan P. Dayang said mediamen, including broadcasters, publishers, editors, columnists, commentators, reporters, photojournalists, campus publication advisers, selected campus editors, writers journalism students, information officers, corporate communication directors, advocates of the preservation of cultural heritage, promotion of tourism and environmental protection are expected to attend the event.
Participants will largely come from the Visayas with some delegates from Mindanao and Luzon.
Dayang said the Boracay Foundation, Inc., has only allotted 100 free hotel rooms with complimentary breakfast to participants on a first-come-first-served basis.
“Officers and members of press clubs, broadcasters, and other media communicators can also participate on this strategic Boracay media conference,” Dyang said.
A token fee of P500 for snacks, meals and other organizational and conference expenses will be charged to media participants.
