BAGUIO CITY – Vice President Jejomar Binay recently award land titles to 107 members of three homeowners’ associations in this city and Benguet.

Binay, who heads the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, personally handed over to the beneficiaries their land titles during simple ceremonies held here at Barangay Luwalhati.

The land titles were given to 11 members of the Luwalhati Homeowners Association; 16 from the Bureau of Plan Industry (BPI) Baguio Homeowners’ Association; and 80 members of the Benguet State University (BSU) Staff Homeowners’ Association in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The distribution of the land titles to qualified beneficiaries is in accordance to the thrust of the HUDCC to provide housing for all provided that beneficiaries will help themselves so government could provide assistance.

Binay instructed officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA) to ensure houses to be given to the beneficiaries will be complete with necessary facilities, including light and water.

The initial recipients of the land titles were part of a bigger number of beneficiaries from the said homeowners’ associations, considering there are still a good number of members who are in the process of paying amortization of their loans prior to being given full ownership of houses and lots.
