BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week approved the temporary closure of Loakan Road particularly the stretch from the junction of Camp John Hay to Scout Barrio area.

The said closure was anchored on the request of the contractor Goldrich Corporation Proprietor William Go for the rehabilitation, improvement, reconstruction and upgrading of the said road which started June 22.

“Approval of the temporary closure will fast track on-going road repairs and expedite completion of the project,” Domogan said.

The road repair is part of the 44M maintenance and rehabilitation work of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Commuters going to and from the city proper are advised to take alternate routes along Kennon-Camp 7 Roads or Kadaclan –Happy Hollow circumferential roads.

Domogan also ordered the contractor to provide signboards and re-routing diagrams to guide motorists traversing the stretch.

Flagmen will also be dispatched to avoid traffic build-up in the area.

The Traffic Management Branch of the Baguio City Police Office (TMB-BCPO) will be implementing appropriate measures to ease traffic in the affected areas.
