4 Ilocos fishermen rescued; reunited with their families

LINGAYEN,Pangasinan -Four fishermen from Bolinao, were reunited with their families after being rescued by Panamanian cargo vessel.

Fishermen were earlier reported missing during the onslaught of Typhoon "Quiel," and now finally reunited with their families at the Capitol Resort Hotel here.

Almost three days and two nights floating at sea, Eduardo de la Cruz, Joseph Caasi, Dante del Fierro and Ricardo Castelo were rescued by the crew of a Panamanian cargo vessel transiting from Singapore to Japan at the shoreline of Sta. Cruz in Ilocos Sur at 8:30 a.m., Oct. 3. The families of the fishermen said, four ventured out to the sea afternoon of Sept. 29 as they thought that Typhoon "Quiel" will arrive on Oct. 2.
