>> Tuesday, October 4, 2011

BAGUIO CITY – The Civil Service Commission shall conduct the last career service written examinations for this year on Oct. 16.

Testing centers are Baguio City, Tabuk in Kalinga and Lagawe in Ifugao

The examination will cover the following subject areas: a) Career Service Professional – In English and Filipino: vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic and numerical reasoning. b) Career Service Subprofessional – In English and Filipino: vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, spelling, clerical operations, and numerical reasoning. Both Professional and Subprofessional levels will have general information on the Philippine Constitution, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (RA 6713), Peace and Human Rights issues and concepts, and Environment Management and Protection.

To pass the test, the examinees should get a general average of at least 80 percent. Passing the career service professional and sub-professional examinations will result in the grant of civil service eligibility needed for permanent appointment to certain positions in the government. Applicants should still meet the other requirements of the position in terms of education, training and experience.

Meanwhile, starting Sept. 12, the CSC started collecting new rates for applications for grant of eligibility under special laws and CSC issuances.

The CSC grants special eligibilities such as: Honor Graduate Eligibility; Barangay Official Eligibility; Barangay Nutrition Scholar Eligibility; Barangay Health Worker Eligibility; Veteran Preference Rating and other special eligibilities. General information on the special eligibilities may be obtained atwww.csc.gov.ph.

Under the new rates, an initial evaluation fee of two hundred pesos shall be paid upon filing of application. Upon approval of application, a processing fee of Php300.00 is required.

The revised schedule has been adopted in the light of the review on the unit cost of expenses incurred in the stages of the grant, which showed that the old fee of Php150.00 is no longer realistic and sufficient to meet the present economic demands covering factors of supplies and materials, security form, overhead and machine costs, and person hours.
