Mayor issues order on traffic regulation

BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week issued Administrative Order 162, series of 2011 to govern public utility jeepneys in the city as basis for the Baguio City Police Office Traffic Management Branch to apprehend violators of said order.
The AO was issued after meetings of the Traffic and Transport Management Committee on enforcement of traffic regulations in the city, for motorists and the public.
The mayor sits as committee chairman, with city police director David Lacdan,, Transport Management Group head James Logan, OIC City Planning Office Evelyn Cayat, transport group head Perfecto Itliong, Jr., Council Transport Committee head NicasioAliping, Jr., and other concerned entities as members.
The move for jeepney rationalization in the city deals with entry and exit points of specific routes, staging and loading areas, and exact number of units for loading and staging.
The rationalization determines the exact number of running vehicles on the road and those on rest days, to complement the carrying capacity of the city’s roads.
For the yellow trunkline; the Central Fairview lines shall use Upper Kayang Hilltop for their loading area with loading allocation for three (3) units; City Camp lines shall use Otek street with ten units for loading; Irisan lines at Chugumst-Bayanihan with 8 units loading allocation; Guisad at Lower Kayangst, 10 units loading allocation; Km. 6 Asin at Upper Kayang with 4 units allocation; Lourdes-Dominican with 10 units at Lower Kayangst, Nangalisan-San Pascual loads ten (10) units at Upper Kayangst.; Pinsao Pilot Project at Hilltop with nine (9) units; Quezon Hill Extension Tacay Tam-awan at Lower Kayang and Chugumst., with 12 units; Sablan at Upper Kayang with 6 units; San Carlos Hts. loading six (6) units at Corner Kayang Hilltop; San Fernando La Union loading 2 units at Chugumst; San Luis with 3 units at Chugumst.; St. Patrick at Kayang Hilltop with one unit; Talete-Beckes-Pappa-Bayabas at Upper Kayangst with two units; Baguio Tacay Tam-awanLonglong at KayangHilttop with 2 units. The yellow trunkline has 683 units but with the rationalization move, shall have only 98 units at the loading areas and 353 at their respective staging points.
The red trunkline shall have 65 units at their loading areas: Antamok Wheels Association at Lakandulast with 4 units; Baguio Gold at Solimanst with one (1) unit; Baguio BeckelObulan at Lakandulast, with two units; Binga lines at Rajah Solimanst. with two units; BingaBaguengKerengTinongdan and BingaGeweng Twin River at Rajah Solimanst., with two units; Baguio Country Club Happy Hollow at Otekst., with five (5) units; Dalupirip at Kalantiaost with two (2) units; Baguio ItogonSangilo at Lakandulast., with four (4) units; Baguio LoakanAntamok at Lakandula with two units; Carantes Gibraltar Mines View at Lower Mabinist., with four (4) units; Mines View-Lower General Luna at General Luna; with two (2) units; Navy Base at Jacinto st., with three (3) units; Pacdal at Jacinto st., with three (3) units; Baguio-SabkilLabilab at Lakandulast. with five (5) units; Baguio Tuding at Lakandulast. with three (3) units; Baguio Ucab at Lakandulast. with six (6) units; Baguio Lamut via Ambuklaord, Sto. Nino Sal-anganBalukasrd with loading area at Rajah Solimanst. with three (3) units; Ambuklao-Bokod at Rajah Solimanst. with one (1) unit; Tuding Manga and Tuding-Bua lines have one (1) unit each; Baguio Atok Mines at Lakandulast. with four (4) units; Baguio Gold creek at Kalantiao, Lakandula with two (2) units; and Mansion-Lucnab Village at Lower Mabini with three (3) units.
Ambuclao-Bokod lines shall utilize their own private parking space at the Dangwa Terminal; Lapu-lapu Maria Basa lines shall have its loading area at Lakandulast., while Pacdal Circle lines loading shall be at Pacdal Circle; both shall run express along their respective routes.
The blue trunkline has out-of-town routes including that of Atok, Kapangan, La Trinidad, Sablan and Tublay. Some jeepney lines running within the cityare Aurora Hill-Modern with loading area at Jacinto St. with 6 units; while Leonila Hill, Aurora Hill, Trancoville-Magsaysay, Trancoville-Magsaysay-Rimando, Trancoville-Tabora-Magsaysay lines are running express along their routes. Brookside-New Lucban loads at Dagohoyst., with four (4) units; Honeymoon-Holyghost loads at Rajah Soliman, near Jollibee Magsaysay with four (4) units; Plaza Pinget Dreamland loads at P. Burgos st with five (5) units; Quirino Hill lines loads at Rajah Solimanst., with five (5) units;
Acop-Shilan loads at P. Burgos st, with two (2) units; Ambiong lines at Dagohoyst., infront of Good Taste Restaurant with two (2) units; Atok Mountain Trail at P. Burgos st., with one (1) unit; Tomay at Slaughter/Rabbit Sinkhole with six (6) units; Buyagan Express at Shuntugst, Abanao/Salughter with six (6) units; La Trinidad at Shuntug, Abanao with two (2) units; Camp Dangwa At Shuntugst., with one (1) unit; Tomay Greenfields and La Trindad lines at Shuntugst., Abanao; Buyagan lines shall have its loading area below Baguio City hall.
Trinidad Express jeepney lines shall load at Slaughter/Rabbit Sinkhole; Tublay and other lines including La Trinidad Express, Balili, Baguio-Buyagan Express loads at the Rabbit Sinkhole while Baguio-Acop-La Trinidad-Shilan-Tomay loads at the Dangwa Terminal; Baguio-Alapang La Trinidad Tomay loads at Caltex, Bonifaciost.
Km 21 Labey-Atok-Caponga-Tublay has its loading area at Rajah Solimanst., with three (3) units; Baguio Sto. Nino-Coroz loads at Rajah Solimanst., with two (2) units; Bayabas lines shall load at P. Burgos st with one (1) unit; Pico-PuguisLonglongMotorpool loads at Rajah Matanda with two (2) units; Amsalsal, Banengbeng, Balluar, Bagong, Boliweng, Bineng, Asin lines loads at T. Alonzo st., with six (6) units; Kapangan lines load at their private parking area at the Dangwa Terminal.
The Green trunklines are allotted 96 lines at their loading areas: PMA Kias at Perfecto St. with four units; Baguio BalatocAcupan at Calderon st, back of Veterans’ Park with one unit; Ampucao Baguio at Veterans’ Park with one unit; Agoo Baguio at Chugumst., with three (3) units; Atok Trail at Chugumst., with two (2) units; Badiwan Tuba at Chugumst, with two units; Bakakeng Central-Kitma-Sto Nino- Bengao loads at Perfecto st., with two units; Bakakeng Norte at Perfecto st., with two (2) units; Baguio BengaoSto. Nino Subdivision at Chugumst., with two units; Campo Sioco-BGH Compound-Balsigan-Phil Am Compound-Sto Rosario-Ferdinand at Perfecto st., with seven (7) units; Sto. Tomas Proper Balacbac at Chugumst., with three (3) units; Camp 1 Rosario-SisonPozzorubio, San Miguel Pangasinan at Gov. Pack road with two units;

Domogan earlier said on-street parking areas reserved for certain jeepney lines should be followed. Some out-of-town jeepneylines have paid parking and loading areas within the city.
