P25-M loans set for Ecija projects

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Ecija – In a bid to provide clean and accessible water supply to poor communities in this province, the Department of Health has extended some P25 million in loans for potable water system projects to three towns.

DoH will allot the funds to the Department of the Interior and Local Government under its "Sagana at LigtasnaTubigsaLahat" program.

DILG provincial director lawyer OdilonPasaraba said the three initial recipients of the program are Kayapa with P8 million grant, Sta. Fe with P10 million fund and Dupax del Sur with P7 million fund.

The “Sagana at Ligtas naTubig sa Lahat” program is jointly implemented by the DILG, Department of Health(DoH) and the National Anti-Poverty Commission.

“The municipalities of Kayapa and Sta. Fe were already given with their corresponding funding assistance for the project. The fund for Dupaxdel Sur town is expected to be released this year,” Pasaraba said.

Pasabara explained that municipalities will be given spring development or deep well water development project especially those without potable water systems and affected by water-borne diseases. -- MM
