Bontoc provides plate numbers in barangay houses

BONTOC – The local government here has provided plate numbers for houses and buildings in 16 barangays for effective delivery of programs and services.

A new ordinance sponsored by Councilor Anthony Sumcad said it would also hasten  easier location of persons, residents, and in delivery of letters, packages, and crates.

Ordinance 102s. 2006 provided funds for implementing scheme of the house numbering programs was implemented in two phases.

The first phase was implemented in year 2007 covering the four central barangays of the municipality namely: Bontoc Ili, Poblacion, Samoki, and Caluttit.

The second phase was supposed to be implemented in 2008 for the remaining 12  barangays but was not implemented.

Upon his return as councilor in 2010, Sumcad sponsored Ordinance No.152 s.2010 “Entitled an Ordinance implementing Phase II of Ordinance No.102s.2006 and providing funds thereof”. The ordinance covers the remaining 12 barangays.

The house plate numbers were issued by Mayor Pascual Sacgaca to the 12 barangay officials on Sept. 18 for installation in barangays.

Other barangays who did not yet claim the plate numbers were advised to get these the soonest.
