Five wanted persons arrested in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Five people were arrested by the police for various offences last week in the Cordillera.

Police reports here said in Benguet, joint personnel of Kabayan town police and Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch arrested Anderson A. Sugnad, 26 of Topdac, Atok, Benguet on Oct. 4at Palinas, PoblacionKabayan for carnapping.

Marybelle Demot MariƱas, regional Trial Court Branch 8 presiding judge earlier issued a warrant for his arrest recommending bail bond of P180,000.   

The following day, members of Sablan town police arrested Marvin L. Nicholas, 27, of Kalot, Banangan, Sablan for reckless imprudence resulting to damage to property.

He was arrested at Baranghay Poblacion, Sablan following a warrant for his arrest issued by Juanito A Orallo, presiding judge of the 2nd Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Tublay-Atok, Tublay, Benguet.

Orallo recommended bail of P23,000 for his temporary liberty.

Police of Bakunand La Trinidad towns also arrested AbantoA. Lung-Ay, 28 of Poblacion, Bakun on the same day for theft.

Lung-ay was nabbed at Dap-ayan Restaurant, Km 6, La Trinidad after Danilo Camacho, presiding judge of RTC Br. 62, La Trinidad issued an arrest against him for theft recommending bail bond of P26, 000.

In Kalinga, Pinukpuktown police arrested Avelino M.Mewag, 56 of Ammacian, Pinukpuk, on Oct. 1 at Barangay Junction for murder.

Judge Marcelino K Wacas of the Second Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court ofTabuk City issued the warrant for his arrest.

In Abra, joint elements of the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU-14) and Bucaytown police led by Senior Insp. Elpidio BalubarBenas Jr., arrested BalbinB. Pati, 39, of Barangay Dugong in the town on Oct. 1 for illegal logging.

Judge Raphiel F. Alzate of RTC, Branch 1, Bangued issued a warrant for his arrest recommending bail bond of P80,000.00.
