Former Isabela rebels given lots after signing agreement with Army

CAMP MELCHOR DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela –
Rebel returnees in Isabela signed a memorandum of understanding with the 5th
Infantry Division, Philippine Army through Col. Miguel T. Puyao Jr., Assistant
Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations, to promote reconciliation and unity among rebel
returnees here Sept. 25.
Those who signed the MOU were two groups of
rebel returnees in the province led by Rolando Lee, KaIlyan and Leonila de
Vera, Ka Leah.
Under the MOA, 817 hectares of land located
at barangays of Carmencita and Santiago of Delfin Albano town were set for
livelihood purposes for the rebels as provided by Presidential Proclamation 203
signed by former President Fidel V Ramos in 1993
Meanwhile, other issues and concerns of the
Isabela rebel returnees were endorsed to the office of the provincial
government and the Office of the President by Peoples Alliance for Democracy
(PADER) Foundation Incorporated which attested rebel returnees were legitimate
members.
