Sagada allots P50K reward for killer’s identity

SAGADA, Mountain Province -- The
Sangguniang Bayan here last week condemned the killing of jeepney
driver TaymoSaturnino ‘Elmo’ Panoyo as it allocated P50,000 reward
to any person who could identify the assailant.
Jeepney driver/owner Panoyo, 44, of
Barangay Bangaan here, was shot dead by an unidentified man who
hired the owner’s vehicle from Bangaan to Besao town evening
of Oct. 30 after buying bread from the Panoyo’s bakery shop in Bangaan
around 5 p.m. same day.
Panoyo who is married to a member of the
Fidelisan tribe traces his ancestry from Kapangan, Benguet.
Panoyo’s nine year old son who accompanied
his father drive the man from Bangaan to Besao told Besao police
that the man shot his father along the road above lake Danum.
Passengers of a jeep which passed by brought
Panoyo to the Besao District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are still investigating the cause of
Elmo’s death and the identity of the assailant.
