BAGUIO CITY -- The Civil Service Commission has set August 30 deadline of registration
for the second career service examinations paper-and-pencil test (CSE-PPT) this
year in professional and sub-professional levels.
According to lawyer Marilyn E. Taldo, CSC
regional director, the CSE-PPT is set Oct. 13 nationwide.
She said applicants may file
application of registration with CSC regional or field offices in the
region.
However, acceptance of applications may be
closed once the target number of applicants has
been reached.
Taldo said applicants must be Filipino
citizen, at least 18 years on the date of the filing of the application,
of good moral character, must not have been convicted by final judgment of an
offense or crime involving moral turpitude, or disgraceful or immoral conduct,
dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs.
Applicants must not have been dishonorably
discharged from military service, or dismissed for cause from any civilian
positions in the government; and must not have taken the same level of CSC
examination in less than three months.
The career service
examination is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s
preparedness to enter government service.
The examinations cover
English, Filipino, and general information, which includes items on the
Philippine Constitution, code of conduct and ethical standards for public
officials and employees (Republic Act No. 6713), peace and human rights issues
and concepts, and environment management and protection.
To pass, examinees
should get a general rating of at least 80 percent.
Taldo said
failure to come on scheduled examination date would mean forfeiture of
examination slot and fee.
No request for
re-scheduling is allowed, she added.
