‘Baguio boy’ Nerez is Cordillera PNP chief

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet — Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez is now the new Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region director, replacing fellow Baguioan, Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong after over two years in the post.

Nerez said that having Magalong as his predecessor makes his assumption to the post easier.

Magalong’s two-year tour of duty in the PRO-CAR is seen in the police community with historic significance because of the restoration of peace and order in the region, particularly in areas known for political violence like Abra.

Meanwhile, Nerez , in his younger years joined the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group  and had headed a lot of PNP postsbefore his assumption as Cordillera PNP director..
