Bontoc
has new police chief
BONTOC,
Mountain Province – This town has a new police chief. Police officer-in-charge
Insp. Alyson Fonang Kalang-ad relinquished his post Nov. 17 to Senior Insp.
Richard Pilacan Soliven who assumed as chief of police pursuant to Special
Orders No. 11-10, dated Nov. 17, 2014, signed by acting provincial police
director Senior Supt. Oliver Alilis Enmodias.
Turn-over
was witnessed by Mayor Franklin C. Odsey, Vice-Mayor Peter L. Puma-at and
barangay officials of Bontoc, at the Bontoc police station.
Soliven
once served as OIC of Bontoc police when he was then inspector.
Soliven
was born Nov. 21, 1961 in this capital town, married to Zenaida Yawan Soliven
and has seven children.
He
finished his baccalaureate and master’s degree in Public Administration on 2001
at Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Upon
assuming the post, the new COP promised to improve police services in the
municipality through enforcement of municipal ordinances and other laws and
maintain good rapport with the municipal government. He sought full cooperation
of his men, support of local officials and community in attaining a peaceful
and orderly Bontoc.
Illegal guns,
ammunition, shabu taken in Abra raids
BANGUED, Abra --
Police confiscated illegal firearms, ammunition
and illegal drugs and paraphernalia during implementation of two search
warrants in the province Tuesday afternoon.
Senior
Supt.Albertlito Garcia, Abra police director said police in coordination
with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency confiscated
in the house of Albano Gumatay Gaano,
a.k.a. Banong, 52, farmer, of Lagangilang, town one M16 rifle, two magazines and 15
bullets for M16.
Meanwhile, in the
residence of Angelo Daplag Bucalong a.k.a. “Angkilong,” 39, of Bonbon-ay, San
Ramon West, Manabo, confiscated were a Cal. 45 pistol, three magazines
for Cal. 45; 33 bullets forCal. 22; a bullet forCal. 9mm handgun, 24 bullets
for Cal. 45; air rifle, two pistol holsters, magazine pouch, shabu and drug
paraphernalia including cash money worthP970.
Both raids were witnessed by
respective barangay officials and members of media.
Judge Raphiel F. Alzate, presiding
judge of the Regional Trial Court in Bangued, Abra and RTC
Branch 58 in Bucay, Abra respectively issued the search warrants.
A case for violation of
Republic Act 10591 known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition
Regulation Act was filed in court against Gaano and Bucalong who are now in
jail.
Meanwhile,
a Cal.5.56 handgun and homemade gun were surrendered by barangay officials of Quidaoen
and Cabcaburao barangays of San Juan town Monday morning.
Four arrested for
robbing Conner store
CONNER,
Apayao -- Four alleged thieves, three of
them minors were arrested in their respective homes for reportedly robbing a
store on Nov. 13 here in Barangay Caglayan.
Town
police arrested Christian Dave
Celis Abarra, 18, and three minors all students of Conner Central
National High School and residents of Barangay Ripang.
A
police report said suspects entered the store by destroying galvanized upper
wall of the store and took P3,120.00 worth of assorted cigarettes, Gel,
lubricant oil and slippers which were recovered from them upon their arrest.
Two females land in jail for taking old woman’s ATM card,
bank books
BAGUIO CITY -- Two
females landed in jail after they were caught deceiving their 72-year- old
victim by taking her personal ATM and bank books in her residencehere at km
5, Asin Road night of Nov. 14.
Suspects named
as Lolita Genese Delos Reyes,
59 and Raquel Genese Dela Cruz,
36, both of San Fabian, Pangasinan reportedly approached and befriended their victim
who was having a dinner at SM department store here.
Later, the suspects
encouraged the victim to go to her house where they took the items.
As they were about to
escape, they were seen by the victim’s sister who immediately sought assistance from their
neighbors and police of Station-9 who arrested them.
Sablan farmer
stabs drinking mate dead
SABLAN,
Benguet -- A farmer was arrested by local police for stabbing to death his
drinking buddy morning of Nov. 13 here at Sitio Besheng, Barangay Kamog.
The
victim identified as Marvin Martin, 60, of Kabayan, Benguet and his neighbor
together with the suspect named as Rey
Calado Lang-ay, 46, both residents of Besheng were having a drinking
spree when the suspect got irked during their conversation that led to the
stabbing.
Man nabbed for
illegal drugs in Bangued
BANGUED,
Abra -- A search warrant issued by Judge Raphiel Alzate, presiding judge of
Regional Trial Court of Branch 1 here led to the arrest of Edgar “Hawayano” Ybañez Nov. 13 in his
residence art Barangay Calabafor possession of illegal drugs.
Police confiscated
shabu and plastic sachets containing shabu residue.
Barangay
officials of Calaba and media representatives witnessed the search.
Buguias businesman arrested
for shabu
BUGUIAS,
Benguet -- A businessman was arrested in a checkpoint for illegal drugs in
front of policestation here Nov. 13.
PCI
Fernando Sangoy Botangen, chief of police who led the team, identified the
suspect as MarsonBayasBallusong, 28,
resident of Bad-ayan, Baculungan Sur here who was aboard a motorcycle when
flagged down by cops.
Seized
from Balosong’s possession were shabu, P2,450, cell phone among others.
Ballusong
was jailed while a case for illegal drugs was filed against him.
Aguinaldo bocap, tanods nab farmer for illegal gun,
chainsaw
AGUINALDO,
Ifugao – Barangay chief here of Posnaan Moises Bayangan,44, with his tanods arrested farmer identified as
Santos B. Changgoy, 19 for
possession of illegal firearm Nov. 16.
Seized
from his possession was Cal. 22 handgun and chainsaw which was reported missing
earlier.
Bullets found in Abra lot, logs confiscated in Itogon
SAN JUAN, Abra – Police confiscated bullets for various guns buried
in a residential lot in San Juan, Abra
Nov. 13 while 79 pieces of pine logs
worth P19,750 were recovered at Barangay Loacan, Itogon, Benguet by cops.
Said lumber were seen
by concerned citizen cut by unidentified out of school youths to be sold to
small scale miners.
Suspects nabbed for illegal logging in
Benguet towns
BOKOD,
Benguet – Police arrested Bartolo
Agadan, of Barangay Karao here who was allegedly paid by someone to haul lumber at Sitio
Ket-ol, Kingis, Poblacion here Wednesday afternoon. Some 2,000 board feet of
assorted illegally sawn pine lumbers were hauled and confiscated.
Same
operatives confiscated 225 pieces of lumber and a chainsaw in Sitio Mangangew,
Poblacion,Monday morning.
During the
operation, the suspect identified as Ramon WalacLamsis, a resident of SitioSalidet, Pito here evaded arrest upon
noticing arrival of police in the area.
Atok town
police also arrested two log transporters after a concerned citizen informed
them that a vehicle loaded with pine lumber was parked at Proper Caliking same
day.
Police arrested Nero Bantasan Colte, 35, and Anderson Marzan Mainem, 21, both
farmers and residents of Proper Caliking while their companions escaped.
Their
vehicle with 199 pieces of illegally
sawn pine lumber was confiscated.
All
arrested and confiscated items including the vehicle were brought to respective
police stations while cases for illegal logging were prepared against the
suspects.
TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- A certain Freddie Gayyad,
40 , was arrested for illegal drugs his residence here at
Purok 4, Lacnog Wednesday morning. Operatives from Kalinga Anti-Illegal Drug
Special Operations Task Group Police and anti-narcotics agents seized shabu weighing 23.6 grams, Ingram submachine gun with magazine
containing three bullets among others.
Judge
Victor A. Dalanao here issued his arrest warrant.
Gayyad
and seized items were brought to Kalinga provincial police office while a case
for illegal drugs was prepared against him.
BAGUIO CITY -- Two
co-workers were placed behind bars for beating a farmer here along Agrix,
Bokawkan Road early Wednesday morning.
The victim
named Denser Bugtong Segundo, 22, resident of km 4, La Trinidad, Benguet
was challenged by the suspects identified as Christian Bananal Cortez, 21 and Joseph Ramos Padilla, 37, both
residents of Aguila Street, Baguio who were drunk and creating trouble.
They
maul the victim who was injured on his right eye. The victim was brought to the
hospital for medical treatment while the suspects were arrested by the
responding police.
BAGUIO
CITY -- Two thieves were arrested after they were caught taking the cell phone
of their victim in front of Old Tiongsan Bazaar, Upper Magsaysay Avenue
here afternoon.
The 22-year-old
student, resident of Purok 7 Apugan, Irisan with her two companions were
walking along the road when the suspects identified as Roland Neri Quemada, 42, laborer,
and resident of Tiptop, Mines View,
Ambuclao Road andNoel Dumalig Gangan,
30, of Bayan Park followed them.
The
suspects took the victim’s white Samsung Duos cellphone worth P8,000 from her
bag, but they were seen by a police auxiliary member HonoratoSalvatiera
Gallegos who arrested and recovered the victim’s cellphone.
Worker caught on CCTV taking P110,787 from
Petron station
BAGUIO
CITY -- A maintenance employee landed in jail after he was caught in a CCTV
footage taking cash money placed by clerk in a drawer at the office of the CEO
of FC Laranang Corp. inside Petron Station Office in No. 1, Naguilian Rd.,
Campo Filipino here Wednesday morning.
The
suspect identified as Ariel
Madriaga Gamba, native of Dulag, Binmaley, Pangasinan, and a tenant at
FC Laranang Corporation barracks, Crystal Cave, Baguio City cleaned the office
of the CEO’s table and left and asked permission from the administrationclerk
to go to the hospital.
The clerk
checked the drawer and discovered that the coin bag containing cash amounting
to P110,787 was missing.
The
CCTV footage caught the suspect on camera taking the money. Immediately, the
CEO reported the incident to police that led to arrest of Gamba and recovery of
the money.
Farmer surrenders after stabbing meat
inspector
BANGUED,
Abra -- A farmer surrendered to the police after he stabbed a
meat inspector here at SitioBacsil, Brgy. Dangdangla for confronting the
suspect for failure to show butcher’s permit Wednesday morning.
The
victim identified as Alexander Sequera Rosuman, 47, of Zone 6 was stabbed
right side of his back by the suspect identified as Arnelo Apolinar Bartolazo A.K.A. “Yong-yong”
41, of Barangay Calaba.
The
victim was immediately brought by concerned citizen to Abra Provincial Hospital
for medical treatment while responding police
and barangay chairman of Calaba Joel Bayle Mailed facilitated the
surrender of Bartolazo and recovered the kitchen knife which was
used by the victim.
