5 arrested in San Fernando raids

SAN
FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Five persons allegedly engaged in killings, robbery
and illegal drugs were arrested here last week with shabu, guns, ammunition and
stolen items, confiscated from them.
Supt.
Julius Suriben, city police chief said David Valdez and Rafael Castillo, 34
here of Barangay Tanqui were
caught
in a buy bust operation by Anti-drug unit under Senior Insp. Jeofrey
Sanchez at Barangay Biday.
Also
seized from them were buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia.
Suriben
said next to fall was Gabriel Ellana of Irisan-Apugan, Baguio City.
He
was arrested by a team under Insp. JuanitoBuaron in Barangay Ilocanos Norte
this city by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Rose Mary Molina Alim
of RTC Branch 7 for frustrated murder.
Also
arrested was a minor involved in robbery and theft cases identified only as
Jimboy who was taken for protective custody by a unit under Insp.
RenanteOrbino after he was tagged as the suspect who sold stolen cellphones and
tablets which were later recovered.
The
fifth man to fall was Judy V. Ibea, a former chief watchman of Badoc, Ilocos
Norte and a person of interest in some sensational cases in Ilocos Norte.
He
was collared by cops under Insp. HaydeeAngelito in Catbangen, this city,
after he threatened a neighbor using a Cal. 45 pistol.
Cops
