LAMUT, Ifugao -- This booming Ifugao town is promoting its tourism sites as part of its effort to boost its tourism industry and attain its vision to improve the quality of life of its people with sustainable, appropriate and ecologically balanced environment under participatory governance. The Municipal Planning and Development Office started production and distribution of information materials about its tourism sites and potential spots.

The tourism sites include the Jolowon Cave that  has the size of an elementary school building, located  15 kilometers from the town proper;  Jolowon Water Falls with its misty, foamy water that flows wildly downstream which can be fun to a nature lover to be carried away by the surging waves of the water;  Ampucol Crystal Cave at Barangay Ambasa wherein mountain trekking is required to reach the fantastic crystallized chamber of the cave,  and Sanafe Dome Cave  which lies on top of the hills overlooking the Poblacion.

The town also has the Yamashita Cave situated in Barangay Hapid where swimmers use banana or bamboo raft to enter the cave.

Dar-awan Viewpont known as Hidden Valley, provides wide panoramic view of the  locality.

There is also Ibulao River snaking its way through the mountain ranges valleys of Barangays Bimpal, Hapid and Pugol providing irrigation to the rice fields and fishponds of Lamut before emptying itself   at the Magat Hydro Electric Plant.

Other tourism sites are Mabatobato Brook and Rocky Hills, Rolling Hills of Payawan, Sanafe and Hapid, Sanafe and Pugol Fishponds, Sinublan Brook, Matangili Cave, Halog Fall, Lamut River, Provincial Livelihood Center, Ifugao State University Museum, Camat Organic Farm and the Mango Groves.

According to MPDO magazine,  there are many beautiful spots in the municipality that lay undeveloped and never promoted to investors as possible investment opportunities.

These include development of rivers, brooks, caves, waterfalls, tour guiding activities, tourism activities like water rafting, horseback-riding, zip line riding, mountain climbing and trekking, tilapia fishing, grilling and camping experience.

Investors can also venture in hotels, inns, restaurants, transport, communication services, development of resorts, picnic areas, camping sites and development of agricultural areas into tourist destination sites and resorts.
