BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan assailed contractors for ineffective implementation of road projects here which is causing heavy traffic in this tourism resort.

During executive-legislative meeting last week, Domogan directed the City Buildings and Architecture Office headed by newly appointed  engineer Nazita Bañez to monitor performance of contractors in  implementation of projects.

Domogan instructed Bañez to submit a report on deficient projects to the bids and awards committee for appropriate action and warn the BAC not to get the same contractor in the future projects.
“Look into the contractor’s available manpower, equipment and project backgrounds before qualifying them to the bidding process to ensure efficiency,” the mayor said.

With regards big projects, he directed CBAO to give track records of contractors for monitoring purposes.

On barangay projects, SP committee on urban planning, lands and housing chair and councilor Leandro Yangot, Jr. proposed to come up with a system to hasten preparation of programs of work and add manpower  through job order appointment.

In identifying sites for a certain barangay project, he said it is important for the city government to validate first the site so as to avoid problem in the implementation of the said project.
