LAOAG
CITY -- Eighty six Ilocano registered nurses, beneficiaries of the provincial
government’s Saguip Nars Program received cash incentives and certificates of
employment during awards ceremony led by Gov. Imee Marcos here recently.
Saguip Nars Program, which is part of the
Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte’s Task Force Trabaho campaign, deployed
the nurses to different district hospitals and rural health units in the
province for three months.
The program was launched March 28 last year
to assist nurses while searching for permanent jobs as well as to address the
growing unemployment and underemployment rate in the province.
Marcos said during the launching their
exposure to public health care “will contribute to the two-year minimum
requirement of experience and at the same time keep their professional skills
going.”
Marcos thanked beneficiaries for their services
and encouraged them to serve especially during emergencies and disasters.
Meanwhile, Myrelle Agustin of Vintar, Ilocos
Norte was cited as the “Best Saguip Nars” for her laudable performance during
her three months of service.
“I only gave my best. I am very thankful to
the provincial government of Ilocos Norte and to Governor Imee Marcos for
giving us opportunity to earn money and clinical experience as well,” she said.
Angel Pascual, father of one of the
beneficiaries, said the program was a great help to his daughter in terms of
gaining clinical experience which will assist her in seeking for a stable job
in the near future.
He expressed his gratitude to Marcos for her
support to people in the province especially the unfortunate and jobless.
Marcos assured them of assistance as Task
Force Trabaho is creating and providing job opportunities for Ilocanos.—John
