TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Candidates intending to run for in the May 2016 polls are reminded that filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) is on Oct. 12-16, Commission on Elections officials said.

This, as some 1,710 applications were processed in mass registration of voters here last week.
Provincial Election supervisor Dexter Barry Cawis reported 422 registered new voters, 373 transfer voters, 82 reactivated, 162 correction of entries, and 640- voter validation.

Citing the Commission on Election’s warning that there is “no forevermore” in registration of voters, Cawis said there is no extension beyond the Oct. 31 deadline set by the Commission.

The Comelec holds “out-of-way” registration of voters so qualified voters will go to polling centers come May 2016 elections.

Cawis urged all registered voters with no biometric validation yet to visit their municipal election centers saying only voters with biometric registration shall be allowed to vote in line with Comelec’s policy on “no bio, no boto”.

Based on latest voters list of Comelec-Kalinga, there are 129,098 registered voters in the province while 30,784 of these have no biometric validation.
