Man left by wife commits suicide

CAOAYAN, Ilocos Sur- A 34-year-old construction worker died  when he committed suicide after his wife reportedly left him behind in barangay Baggoc, this town while a woman was also stabbed dead in San Ildefonso town.

Police report said that Joel Rapanut Acena of Baggoc, hanged himself July 9 with electric wire and was already lifeless when he was found by his father.

The hanging incident was ported by barangay chief Eusebio Regaspi to police who found the lifeless victim with electric wire still tied on his neck.

The victim’s sister told police the victim was having a problem with his live-in partner who left him last May which triggered him to commit suicide. 

No sign of foul play was seen on the victim’s body, police added.
