Driver nabbed
for shabu in buy-bust
BAGUIO CITY -- Police arrested a driver in a buy-bust
operation after selling sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover agent
here along Kayang Street, Barangay Kayang Extension Wednesday night.
Nabbed was Edwin Racracquien
“Peklat” Simbillo, 32, of Block 7, East Quirino Hill.
Confiscated from Simbillo
was a sachet containing suspected shabu; P700 buy-bust money Samsung cell phone. Simbillo
is now facing charges in court for illegal drugs.
Two men arrested in Kalinga for illegal guns
RIZAL, Kalinga -- Two men were
separately nabbed in their respective residences here Wednesday for illegal
guns.
In this city, personnel
of Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Rizal Municipal Police Station and
Criminal Investigation and Detective Group of Kalinga, Cagayan and Isabela
jointly implemented warrant issued by Judge Nicanor S. Pascual of RTC, Br 25,
Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga.
In the morning, Patricio Tungdo Ayangwa, 52, welder
and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Romualdez, Rizal, was arrested in his
house. Confiscated from him were a Cal. 38 handgun with 11 bullets for said
gun, six bullets for Cal. 45 and holster.
Meanwhile, Victor
T. Macaiba was apprehended in the evening at his residence in Barangay
Romualdez, Rizal. Confiscated from him were Cal. 45 pistol, and eight bullets
for the gun.
Ayangwa and Macaiba are
now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of firearms.
Regional police director
Chief Supt. Rolando Nana cited arresting officers saying strengthened
partnership of regional police office with other agencies and the community
greatly helped in peace-keeping efforts of the PNP.
Man hurt in collision with SUV driven by British man
LAMUT, Ifugao – A resident was injured here Tuesday when
the vehicle he was driving collided with another driven by a British national.
The incident happened around 4:10 p.m.
here in Poblacion East involving a Ford Everest bearing Plate No. ABZ 2930
driven by Marc Albert Smith Evans which collided with a red TMX 125 w/ plate
no. AZ 11865 driven by Engelbert L. Calingayan.
Calingayan sustained multiple injuries
and was brought by responding police to Veterans Regional Hospital. Evans was
not injured.
Marijuana bricks seized in La Union
SAN JUAN, La Union – Nine bricks of
marijuana, with an estimated street value of P2.5 million, were confiscated
from four suspects in a drug operation by anti-narcotics and police personnel
in Barangay Urbiztondo here recently.
According to Chief Insp.
Silverio Ordinado, Jr. La Union Police Provincial information officer, the
bricks, which had a total weight of 25 kilos, were seized from Marty V. Razon,
32; Ruenze C. Santos, 42; Gary M. Herela; and Mark Dennis V. Norega, 24.
The suspects are now in
the custody of the San Juan police while awaiting the filing of charges for
violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.—Erwin Beleo
British national calls Filipinos ‘pigs’
BAGUIO CITY – A British national is facing charges for oral
defamation and unjust vexation after a child minding center lady employees
reported the incident to police.
A police report said the incident
happened Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. at Let’s Talk and Learn
Development Center Inc., a therapy center here at No. 3 Himalaya St. Shangrila
Village, San Luis.
Complainants
were named as Mirzi Rovi Maye Saez Villegas and Mailyn “Len” Custodio
Naval against Andrew Hopkins, at present residing at No. FD 218-B
Pinespark Balili La Trinidad, Benguet.
Hopkins reportedly fetched his 6-year-old son who was
undergoing therapy at the place of incident.
As they were about to leave the place,
his son needed to use the comfort room and Len assisted the child not knowing
that the child already urinated inside his pants before entering the comfort
room.
Upon discovery, Len tried to change the
child’s pants but the suspect angrily hit Len on her right arm when he pushed
the door.
Hopkins scolded and uttered unsavory words at employees
then humiliated Villegas by getting the soaked pants of his son and slapped it
to her face demanding her to smell it.
When the suspect was about to leave, he shouted and said:
“You Filipinos are pigs and smell shit. The case is now being handled by a
private lawyer of the complainants.
Girl, 15,
raped in car in Baguio City
BAGUIO CITY — A 15-year-old girl was allegedly
raped here recently.
Police said Cleff Jayson
Anatado, 20; his companion, 17, and the victim were in a Toyota Revo
supposedly to bring her home after a drinking spree at a birthday party at
around 10 p.m., but stopped the vehicle along Dontogan St. and raped her.
The victim managed to
escape and sought police assistance.
Anatado was arrested while the 17-year-old suspect was referred to the
social welfare office.
Cannon projectile found in Itogon
ITOGON, Benguet – A projectile used for canons
during World War 2 found by a resident
here while he was digging a septic tank was recently turned over by police.
The resident said he found the explosive in 2015 and kept it in his backyard
covering it with leaves and scraps to prevent it from being detonated.
Local police got the dormant explosive which was around 155 mm, 12 inches long and 6 inches in diameter.

Police probe death of vendor
BAGUIO
CITY – Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old vendor whose body
was found decomposing here Monday at the first floor of No. 155 Upper Crystal
Cave, Bakakeng Central.
The cadaver was
identified as that of a certain Jess
Chan, native of Isabela province.
A taxi operator named as
Eduardo Diastan Biason Jr., 52, of Mankayan, Benguet and a resident of the
place of the incident told police he smelled foul odor emanating at the room of
Jess Chan.
Biason
and with his driver opened the room and saw the dead victim lying on his right
side that prompted them to report the incident to the police.
Biason said Chan was
suffering from diabetes.
The crime scene was checked
by city crime laboratory office-led by Chief Insp. Juliet Albon and Dr. Dandeo
Halog of Health Service Office.
According to Halog, the
cadaver was dead three days earlier. The doctors found no injury on the
victims, no external signs of physical injuries during the examination.
The cadaver of the
victim was brought to Baguio Memorial Chapel along Naguilian Road for autopsy.
Cagayan teen held for
rape of girl, 9
TUGUEGARAO,
Cagayan -- A 17-year-old student was accused of raping a nine-year-old girl in
Barangay Ipil, Gonzaga, Cagayan last Feb. 27.
Police said the suspect
reportedly raped the victim along the seashore at around 4:30 p.m.
The victim sought police
assistance after the suspect allowed her to leave. – Raymund Catindig
Farmer found dead along Hungduan road
HUNGDUAN,
Ifugao – A farmer was found dead lying on the roadside here Monday around 9:30
p.m. at Sitio Namul-o, Barangay Abatan.
The victim was identified as George Pacliw Bugatti, male, 32,
single, and resident of farmer, Evangelical by faith and a resident of Sitio
Pulag, Poblacion.
Investigation disclosed around
8:30 p.m. went to buy meat at Janet’s Store at Namul-o. After having a snack of
biscuits and a bottle of cobra energy drink, he decided to go home. At about
8:45 p.m., a certain Romeo Calingayan,
41 , farmer and resident of same place saw
Bugatti lying down beside the road about 40 meters away from the store.
He tried to wake up the victim but there was no response. Calingayan immediately
called the family of Bugatti and they brought the victim to Hungduan Municipal
Hospital where the attending physician declared him dead on arrival due to
heart attack.
2 motorbikes collide in la paz; 4 injured
LA
PAZ, Abra – Two motorcycle drivers including their back riders were injured
when their vehicles collided here Monday around 3:30 p.m. along Abra-Ilocos
Norte Road, Sitio Curibot, Mudeng.
One motorcycle was
driven by Mikaela Gaboy Alcalde, 25,
student and resident of Sallapadan, Abra, with her back ride identified
as Melody Ubaldo Serrano,
26, BPI employee and resident of Camp Col Juan Villamor, Bangued.
The other motorcycle was
driven by Carmelo Manube Acnam,
53 years old, sangguniang bayan member of Danglas, Abra and and his back rider
identified as Ruby Javier Acnam,
46, public school teacher.
Investigation
conducted disclosed that Alcalde was headed north towards La Paz when it
took the opposite lane then accidentally collided with Carmelo’s vehicle who
was going south. All four were injured and brought to Abra Provincial Hospital
by a concerned citizen for treatment.
All motorcycles were
brought to La Paz town police station for proper disposition.
