THE
JUDICIAL and Bar Council (JBC) has started the process of filling a position in
the Office of the Ombudsman that will be vacated by Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon
Gerard Mosquera.
In an announcement
published last week, the JBC opened the nomination and application for the next
deputy ombudsman for Luzon.
Applicants have until
April 17 to submit their applications or nominations to the council’s office at
the Centennial Building of the Supreme Court (SC) in Manila.
This will be the second
appointment of President Duterte in the anti-graft office after appointing SC
Associate Justice Samuel Martires as ombudsman last year.
Mosquera, who was
appointed by former president Benigno Aquino III in 2012, will retire on June 1
after completing the seven-year term in office.
The JBC also set the
public interview of nominees for four vacancies in the Court of Appeals (CA)
and two in the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).
The interview for 39
applicants in the CA and CTA posts will be conducted daily from March 12 to 20.
