2 Abra officials, 7 more nabbed for illegal guns, bullets in Cordi

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested seven persons for illegal drugs in Cordillera Monday and Tuesday.
Six were nabbed in their respective residences while an ABC president was apprehended during "Oplan bakal sita."
Assorted 11 firearms, 367 ammunition and 17 magazines were confiscated.
Leading the list of arrested personalities were two elected officials of Abra. 
Ezequiel Castañeda Parado, 29, barangay kagawad was arrested in his residence at Sitio Baybayatin, Barangay Collago, Lagayan town on June 3 while Fidel Bambico Belena, 34, ABC president of La Paz was nabbed at a drinking establishment along Calaba, Bangued early morning of May 31.
Confiscated from Parado were Cal .45 with magazine loaded with seven bullets; Cal .45 with magazine with six bullets, Cal 5.56 M16A1 rifle with 26 bullets, magazine for Cal.45 with seven bullets, seven magazines for Cal. 5.56 rifle; 100 bullets for Cal 5.56 rifle, three rifle scopes, bullet proof vest, bandolier; and two  holsters for Cal .45 pistol.
Meanwhile, confiscated from Belena were Cal. 45 pistol with magazine loaded with bullets, magazine for Cal. 45 with three bullets, five bullets for Cal 9 mm and magazine assembly for Cal 5.56 including a tactical knife.
Still in Abra, a couple identified as Gener F. Bayabos, 39 and Ednalyn A Bayabos, 36, was arrested May 29 at Barangay Ubbog- Lipcan, Bangued, for possession of Cal. 38 revolver with four bullets, two sachets of suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
John Michael Vincent Bose, 32, was nabbed at Barangay Badas, San Juan May 31 for possession of Cal. 9mm with magazine loaded with bullets.
In Benguet, a female caretaker named Lyn Magalona Quemada, 43, was arrested at Monterazas Subdivision, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet morning of May 29, for possessing a Cal. 12GA shotgun, Cal. 22, air gun, 40 pieces of Cal 12GA bullets, 43 bullets for Cal 12GA; 103 bullets for Cal. 22; and three magazines for Cal. 22.
In Kalinga, police arrested Delden Baggay Guiawan, 34 on May 29, 2019 at Purok 3 Tuga, Tabuk City for possession of Cal. 45 handgun and two magazines loaded with 13 bullets.
Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Israel Ephraim T. Dickson said the PNP’s campaign against illegal firearms will be intensified and urged the public to report to police persons possessing dangerous weapons.
