 85 wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Cordillera police arrested 85 wanted persons including three men listed in 10 most wanted persons in the region on May 27-31.
Apayao’s listed no. 6 most wanted charged for seven counts of rape identified as Robert R Acebedo, was caught in Barangay Malibang, Pudtol on May 31.
Christopher Andres Akyapas was cornered along Bokawkan Road, Baguio City on May 29 for theft.
Judge Glenda T Ortiz-Soriano, Judge of MTC, Branch 2, Baguio City recommended a bail of P12, 000 for his temporary liberty.
Emerson Das Licuanan, 30, of Inequez Street, Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga was arrested in Poblacion Centro, Dagupan Tabuk City on May 30 for carnapping.
He was reportedly a member of the Licuanan Group involved in a series of carnapping and proliferation of unlicensed firearms in Naguilian, La Union and nearby provinces. 
Judge Ferdinand A. Fe of the RTC Branch 33, 1st Judicial Region, Bauang La Union recommended bail of P300,000 for his temporary liberty.
Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests numbering to 48, followed by Benguet with 13; Ifugao, 7; Apayao and Kalinga with 5 arrests each, Abra with four and Mountain Province with three arrests.

Laborer shoots laborer in Banaue

BANAUE, Ifugao – A laborer was seriously injured when he was shot by another here around 3 a.m. Monday at Barangay Bocos.
The victim was identified as Michael Saquino, 23, while the suspect was named as Timmango Ognayon, 64, of Bocos.
Master Sgt. Doplah of Banaue police said investigation disclosed the victim was headed home from a wake when the suspect shot him without any reason. The victim escaped and sought help from his neighbors.
Saguino was shot on his abdomen and rushed by concerned citizens to Good News Clinic and Hospital but later referred to Veterans hospital by Dr. Antonio Ligot.
The suspect surrendered to Banaue police without the firearm.

Jeep slams onto Itogon mountainside; 4 hurt

ITOGON, Benguet – Four persons were injured when a public utility vehicle lost its brakes making the driver steer and slam it onto a mountainside here around 9:30 a.m. Monday along Baguio-Bua-Itogon Road at Upper Tram, Ucab. The vehicle bearing plate number AYE 673 was driven by Lamberto Pasi Anacio, 51 of Antamok Tram.
Msg. Joey A. Bumidang of town police said as a result, the vehicle dropped and rested on its driver’s side along the concrete pavement.
The four injured passengers were rushed to Notre Dame De Chartres Hospital in Baguio City by a private vehicle.
The victims were identified as: Marilyn Asiong Madalang, 54,  of Upper Tram, Ucab; Jocelyn Pantaleon Parian, 34, teacher of St. Louis High School – Antamok and Roxanne Nabong Nebaten, 36, of Bua, Itogon, Benguet.
The operator of the vehicle shouldered medical expenses of victims among others. Victims said they were not interested in filing charges against the driver and amicably settled the incident with the driver.

 Man nabbed for rape in Paracelis

PARACELIS, Mountain Province – Police arrested here a certain Henry Ngittit Jr. Y Ullay, 41, farmer on May 31 for rape.
This, after Sergio T. Angnganay, judge of RTC First Judicial Region, Branch 35, Bontoc, Mountain Province issued warrant against the suspect’s arrest.

 Thief steals BSU admin vice president’s valuables 

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A still unidentified thief stole expensive valuables of the vice president for administration of the Benguet State University here when he broke into his cottage at Sitio Cabanao, Barangay Balili around 12:30 p.m. on May 31.
Police named the victim as John Farin Malamog, 57, of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
Sgt. Estipular of La Trinidad police said the victim and his family went to a family affair that day and arrived home around 7:30 a.m. that day and found out about the incident.
Investigation revealed the thief pulled the screen cover of the window, removed a jalousie glass and inserted his hand to remove the lock of the door and opened it.
 The suspect then entered the cottage and took an Asus laptop and a Nikon D32 camera.
 The items were issued by the BSU to the victim. The compound has a security guard and came to know about the theft when he was informed by police.

 ‘Thief’ steals TV sets of King’s College 

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The security guard of King’s College here at Barangay Pico reported to police Monday they have identified a thief who stole expensive television sets of the college.     
Master Sgt. Pol-ocan identified the suspect as Jude Lingbao Ambona, 38, of Bayao, Pinukpok, Kalinga and resident of D-251, Purok 27, San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City.
Complainant Luther W. Ngayodan, 37, married, chief security officer of the college said on May 14, at about 7:30 a.m., he was informed by the secretary that the television mounted at the lobby of Building A was missing.
They viewed the CCTV footage and noticed the suspect tilted  CCTV cameras on May 5.
It was also noticed CCTV cameras were again repositioned on May 12. The complainant further said CCTV footage captured the image of the suspect when he removed the television mounted at the lobby of Building A early morning that day.
They found out another television installed at the same building was also missing. The television mounted at the lobby was described as Qube brand worth P18,695 while the other was an  Ace worth P16,850 for amount of P35,540.
Court charges were prepared against the suspect.

Beneco motorcycle stolen in Mankayan school  

BUGUIAS, Benguet – A student who went to “unwind” with his friends in one of the bars here at Barangay Abatan found out later a motorcycle he left at the compound San Isidro High School in adjacent Guinaoang, Mankayan, Benguet was stolen.
SSgt. Valentine H. Amos named the complainant as Lanz Azrel Menis Nalicao, 18, student, of Nakiangan, Abatan.
The stolen Honda XR200 motorcycle bearing plate no.AF 9967 was reportedly registered under the Benguet Electric Cooperative Inc.  
Amos said the victim parked the said motorcycle and went to attend class. After classes at around 3 p.m. on May 30, together with his friends, went to Abatan and went home around 9 p.m.
The following day, he went to school and discovered the motorcycle was missing. A certain Regan Taluyan said he saw  the motorcycle but didn’t notice who took it.

Autopsy set to determine cause of Nigerian’s death

BAGUIO CITY – A Nigerian national identified as Chinonye Nelson Anulumado reportedly died here Monday due to heart attack.
The victim’s friend, a certain David Amaizu said Anulumado was a resident of Barangay Balsigan. He was rushed to Baguio General Hospital due to chest pain but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Police, said a certain I.A Lazarus, counselor of the Embassy of Nigeria requested autopsy to determine the exact cause of death of the victim.

Bizman, 71 robbed of P60-K P250-K valuables  

BAGUIO CITY – A 71-year-old businessman was robbed of P60,000 cash and valuables worth around P250,000 last week of May at his residence at 251 Ambuklao Road, Barangay Pacdal.
Master Sgt. Calamiong named the victim as Avelino Albaniel Buban, saying the incident was reported to police on June 1when the victim arrived from vacation in Australia.
Buban and his family reported left their caretaker Maria Paz Lopena, 34, alone at their residence..
The victims discovered their cabinet was opened. Stolen were a Cal. 45 pistol with two magazines and bullet all worth P 45,000; Anne Klein gold plated wrist watch worth P5,500; Tag Heuer, white gold plated wrist watch worth P87,000; Tissot gold plated wristwatch worth P36,000; Apple IPad worth P30,000 and Del Laptop worth P37,000.
Investigation revealed thieves gained entry at their neighbor’s vacant lot then climbed the fence leading to the master’s bedroom.
Thieves unscrewed the steel window grill bar, entered the room and got the items. Suspects also forcibly tried to open the steel vault box, but failed, said Master Sgt Calamiong in a report.

Farmer stabs farmer in Abra

PILAR, Abra – A farmer stabbed another farmer here June 1 at Sitio Batbato Barangay Kinabiti. Police named the victim as Regie Recaña, 31 while the suspect was Jun Fred Apolonio, 20, residents of same place.
Investigation conducted by police disclosed around 9:30 p.m., the victim had a drinking spree at the house of Eric Batong. After drinking, the victim asked permission to go home on board his tricycle with his son John Nico Recaña, 12, a grade 7 student.
While on their way home, victim passed by a group of men who were also drinking. He got off his tricycle to join the group but a heated argument ensued between Jun Fred Apolonio and his step brother Jayson Vallijos, 37.
The victim punched the face of Vallijos which prompted Apolonio to stab the victim thrice on his back. Victim was rushed to Abra Provincial Hospital for treatment.
The suspect was arrested but the weapon used was not recoverred.

P330-K marijuana uprooted in Kibungan

KIBUNGAN, Benguet – Police uprooted and burned 1,650 fully grown marijuana plants valued P330,000 here May 31 at Sitio Lingey, Barangay Tacadang.
The illegal plants were discovered on two marijuana plantation sites.

‘Shabu’ lands man in Baguio jail

BAGUIO CITY – A man was nabbed here May 31 for illegal drugs at his residence at 11, Cresencia Village.
Arrested was Jonnie H. Thomas after police allegedly found four sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around one gram and an aluminum foil.
This, after Judge Bernadette Badicao- Abnasan of MTC Santo Tomas, La Union issued warrant against the suspect.

Rape lands man in Ifugao jail

AGUINALDO, Ifugao – Police nabbed on May 31 a certain Sherwin L. Monchaya, 22, for rape and jailed him at the municipal jail.
This, after judge Rufus G. Malecdan Jr. of RTC Branch 15 Alfonso Lista Ifugao issued warrant for his arrest with no bail recommended.

Subject person was brought to PS5, Baguio CPO for proper disposition.

 Man nabbed in Pudtol,Apayao for rape cases

PUDTOL, Apayao – A man was arrested here May 31 at Barangay Malibang for rape. Suspect Robert R. Acebedo was the object of a warrant issued by Judge Victor R Cumigad of RTC Branch. 26, Luna, Apayao for six rape cases.

Kalinga police trace man in Tuguegarao for estafa

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Police of Rizal, Kalinga traced a man here wanted for estafa on May 31. Nabbed was  Andy Arugay Tangan after warrant was issued against him by Judge Nympha Dugayon Abbacan of MCTC Pinukpuk-Rizal, Kalinga.

 Ifugao cops find man in NV wanted for lasciviousness 

VILLAVERDE, Nueva Vizcaya – A man wanted for lasciviousness was arrested here May 31 in Barangay Ocapon. Nabbed was James B. Ngabit after Judge Romeo U. Habbiling of RTC Branch 14 Lagawe, Ifugao issued warrant against him for violation of Republic Act 7610 and acts of lasciviousness.
Ngabit was brought to Asipulo, Ifugao where he is facing said charges.  

 Five persons hurt in Asin Road accident

TUBA, Benguet – Five passengers of a Toyota Lite Ace were injured here along Asin Road in an accident around 7 a.m. of May 31. The vehicle with plate number ADH RCD 821 was driven by Gerson Paolo Butag, 30, resident of MB 224 Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet when it hit a mountainside of the opposite lane. 
The injured were brought to Baguio General Hospital Medical Center by concerned folks.

Cops confiscate illegal logs in Natonin

NATONIN, Mountain Province --  Police conducted anti-illegal logging operation here in Sitio Mangnao, Barangay Banawel that resulted to confiscation of five pieces of abandoned lumber value at P1, 652.

 Cops get slot machine  found in Tadian shanty

TADIAN, Mountain Province – Police confiscated a slot machine in a shanty here May 31 following report of a concerned citizen saying the gambling machine was seen in a shanty at Barangay Bunga.
The machine called Kulalong was brought to Tadian municipal police station.

Butcher surrenders two slot machines in Bontoc

BONTOC, Mountain Province – A butcher surrendered two slot machines locally called Kulalong here around 10 p.m. of May 31 inside a meat booth at Poblacion.The gambling machines were surrendered by Osing Moling Kisofen, 21, single, of Chakong, Bontoc Ili.

Laborer surrenders gun in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – A certain Florante Castro Mararac, 39, laborer, here of 138 Teacher's Village, Sto. Tomas Proper, surrendered a Cal. 38 revolver to police. Mararac said he found the firearm while cleaning the basement of his boarding house.

 9 dead in Nueva Ecija, Pampanga drug busts

CABANATUAN CITY -- Six people were killed in anti-drug operations in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga Wednesday and Thursday.
                Reports reaching the office of Brig. Gen. Napoleon Coronel, Central Luzon police director, identified the slain suspects in Nueva Ecija as Jimboy Constantino, 26, a resident of Barangay MS Garcia, Mar Cardano of H. Concepcion and Jhon Jhon Mallari of Mayapyap Sur, all in Cabanatuan City; Michael Domingo, 33, of Abar First, San Jose City, and Rod de la Cruz of Palayan City.
In Pampanga, Richard Arequel, 29, was killed in an alleged shootout with anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Cabetican, Bacolor.
