Cop maltreats man who brought shooting victim to Abra hospital

LAGANGILANG, Abra – A cop identified as a certain SSG Christopher Bicera Abella here is facing charges for maltreating a man who rushed a victim of a shooting incident to the hospital.

It all started around 10:50 a.m. on Nov. 17 when a certain Rezon Bumatay Alconis, 20, single, student and a resident here of Poblacion accompanied by Milagros Alconis Soberano and Rodante Tumalip Guettap  personally reported to Dolores town police an alleged case of slight physical injuries that transpired at about 10 p.m. of Nov. 16 in Barangay Mudiit, Dolores particularly at St. Theresa Hospital against Abella, presently assigned at Lagangilang.

Investigation disclosed Alconis together with Rodante Guettap rushed one Jaime Agaid to said hospital who was a victim of a shooting incident that transpired in Poblacion, Lagangilang.

Accordingly, personnel of Lagangilang police arrived  and Abella interviewed Alconis  what happened and who shot Agaid but the latter  replied that he only rushed Agaid to the hospital.

Abella then allegedly hit the chest and stomach of Alconis using his elbow.

Case  was refered to barangay chairwoman of Mudiit, Dolores for arbitration proceedings.
