Kalinga sets second relief aid for 12,523 poor families

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga - The provincial government will conduct second wave of  relief operation for  12,523 identified indigent families with the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon extended until April 30.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Digna Dalutag said the relief food packs will be distributed to the identified families living below the poverty threshold.

               Meanwhile, all local chief executives of the province also agreed to provide a 2nd wave of support to the stranded students in Baguio City, Benguet and in Manila.
                As promised by the provincial LGU, there will be “no Kalinga constituent who will be left behind” hence this new wave of assistance to be provided. Deadline of form registration is at 5:00pm, April 16, 2020. 

The provincial task force headed by Gov. Ferdinand Tubban called on all Kalinga folks stranded outside the province, either students or workers, to remain or stay at their present location.

They were advised to keep in touch with the provincial government through its official facebook page Province of Kalinga or email ad: kalingapgo@gmail.com or through the Capitol Information Section on the process on how to avail of assistance.

With the extension of ECQ until April 30, the LGUs are implementing existing guidelines relative to the containment of COVID-19 within its area of jurisdiction.

Entry of citizens coming from areas with positive COVID-19 is stringently regulated and could be denied entry from the boundary checkpoint by the elements of the task force.

In  related development,  with Tabuk City  placed under extreme ECQ until April 30, , the city LGU requires  travelers bearing IATF ID accorded to authorized persons outside of their residences but on personal travel in and out of Tabuk  to present travel or mission order at checkpoints.

Moreover, only food pass issued by the Department of Agriculture and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources will be honored in checkpoints.
