BANGUED, Abra -- Criminal charges were filed
against a man for allegedly snatching pigs from farmers in the province and
selling these.
The police identified
the suspect as Julius Liberato, 33 of Penarrubia town and a resident of Sitio
Quimpal.
He was arrested by
members of the Bangued police who received report of the suspect selling the
pigs to a buyer.
The complainant said
they were on their way with the pigs aboard a tricycle when the suspect duped
him into going down the vehicle supposedly because it was malfunctioning.
The suspect then sped
away, taking with him the pigs. A closed-circuit television camera captured the
heist and the suspect’s likeness which have gone viral on social media.
The suspect shaved his
head to avoid being caught but his strategy did not stop the complainant and
the police from identifying him.
Liberato has had a
previous complaint lodged against him for allegedly stealing two pigs from
another hog raiser from Lusuac the previous week.
