14 NPA guerillas surrender in Abra

BOLINEY, Abra — Another fourteen members of the New People’s Army voluntarily surrendered here in Dao-angan, Boliney town on June 24.
    Based from reports of Abra Provincial Police Office to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee, two of the 14 surrenderees handed-over their high-powered firearms.
    Surrenderees were identified as “Potinek”, 63, who turned-over a 5.56mm rifle and “Kabati,” 45, who also gave up an M1 Carbine rifle.
    “Ka Berto”, 58, yielded a Cal. 7.62mm rifle, “Ka Aries”, 41, a M16 A1 rifle and one long magazine and “Ka Vilma”, 48 who yeilded a Cal. 45 pistol.
    “Ka Janeth”, 56, gave up a Cal. 45 pistol; “Ka Dina”, 46 a 9mm ingram submachine gun and one magazine; “Ka Awi”, 36, a Cal. 45 pistol and one magazine; “Ka Ambo”, 66, M16 rifle and 20 bullets.
    “Ka Arthur”, 36, gave up a gauge 12 shotgun; “Ka Liwi”, 30, an Ingram submachine gun pistol and one magazine; and “Ka Rabas”, 50, an Elisco M16 A1 rifle and 20 bullets.
    “Jerome”, 62, gave up a Cal. 45 pistol while “Ka Tabo”, 63, yielded a Cal.7.62mm M1 Garand bolt action rifle.
    Their voluntary surrender was facilitated by police and CIDG elements, the Army’s 24th Infantry Battalion and Barangay, Dao-angan, Boliney town officials.
    The surrenderees are now staying at provincial police headquarters at Camp Juan Villamor, Bangued for debriefing.
