P19.1-M drugs seized; eight druggies arrested

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Eight drug personalities were arrested while P19.1 million worth of illegal drugs was confiscated Feb. 25 to March 4 in Cordillera.
    The PNP Regional Operations Division bared 21.50 grams of shabu worth P146,200 were confiscated from the eight druggies
    Of the eight, three were arrested by Abra Police Provincial Office and Kalinga provincial police offices followed by Benguet PPO and Baguio City Police Office  with one each.
    In Abra, arrested were Alvin Anioay, 41; Jamaica Del Prado, 35; and Juby Tugadi, 59 while Romeo Mocay Jr., 35 was arrested by Benguet police.
    Meanwhile, Kalinga police arrested Jonathan Talaue, 31; Marlon Mendoza, 27; and Rodelio Banosan, 32 while Jhunby Diaz, 40 was arrested by Baguio police.
    All arrested suspects are now facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
    Meanhile, police discovered seven marijuana plantation sites in Benguet and Mt. Province.  
    From these sites, a total of 18, 673 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and 127,000 grams of dried marijuana worth P18, 974, 600 were discovered.
    These were all burned after documentation.
