Barlig, Natonin villages given P5-M DA projects

BARLIG, Mountain Province -- The Kadaclan Ancestral Domain was recipient of P5 million worth of projects from the Dept. of Agriculture Cordillera under “Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo” 4-K program.
    Ceferino Oryan, municipal Agriculture officer bared this during flag ceremony at municipal grounds here recently.
    On Nov. 24, 2022, DA personnel oriented beneficiaries on the 4-K program to develop ancestral agfrucultural lands of indigenous peoples for productive, profitable, self-sustaining and developed agricultural enterprices.
    The DA will hold trainings for Kadaclan Indigenous Peples Organization as project implementing arm with council of elders as policy-making body.
    They shall pursue economic, social and cultural development of their choice responsive to their customs, values, beliefs and indigenous political structures.
    Cameron Odsey, DA regional director will visit Kadaclan Ancesstral Domain for inspection and validation.
    Recipients were four barangays:  Banao of Natonin town and Chupac, Kaleo, Lunas and Ogo-og of Baralig that composed the KAD.
    The National Commssion on Indigenous Peoples issued to them Certificate of Ancestal Domian Title (CADT) no. CAR-BAR-1905-188 dated Sept. 23, 2015 signed by then Zenaida H. Pawid, NCIP Commissioner for Cordillera Administrative Region and Region 1 with  Commissioner Leonor T. Oralde-Quintayo as chairperson.
    The five barangays were allotted P1 million each for their production and livelihood projects.
    Excellent performance will provide them with more grants relevant to their ancestral domain’s sustainable develpoment and protection plans (ADSDPPs) in consonance to Indigenous Peoples Rights Act 8371 of 1997.
     KIPO officers installed by Benedicto Nabunat, Chupas punong barangay were: Roselyn Cayasfon, president; Pacalao Awisan, vice president; Rimar Cherawan, secretary; Annalyn de la Cruz, treasurer; Benedicto Fiarokat, auditor; Lambaerto Ambuyao, PRO and Bayani Pangsiw, Percival Fulagan Siggaon Chorawan, Redilyn Ermo, Virga Ongaron as business managers.
    This writer and Basulio Pulagan are advisers from the Kadaclan council of elders.
