Observe road rules to prevent accidents

Motorcycle riders told:
BAGUIO CITY -- City officials recently urged all motorcycle riders in the city to always observe road courtesy at all times to prevent accidents and untoward incidents.
Under resolution 737, series of 2023, local legislators was there was need to constantly remind motorcycle riders of the road courtesies to not cause riders any trouble when travelling along the roads in the city.
The council also urged the Cordillera office of the Dept. of Transportation to conduct regular seminars and training on road courtesy for motorcycle riders.
During the Senior Citizens Official for A Day session held Oct. 9, the SCOFAD Council adapted the proposal of SCOFAD Councilor Nilda Nelly H. Salcedo that urged all motorcycle riders in the city to observe utmost road courtesy at all times and earnestly requesting the DOTR-CAR to conduct regular seminars and trainings on road courtesy for motorcycle riders.
The council noted the State affirms maintenance of peace and order, protection of life, liberty and property and general welfare were essential for people.
The body said Baguio, being branded as a Character City, ensures that every individual in the community adopts and embodies a character-based approach towards other people and is expected to be exemplars of good character.
The council said as a highly urbanized city, transportation serves as a primary tool in the accessibility of social services and connectivity of people, thus, to serve its purpose, people use other mechanisms and means so as not to delay transactions, one of which is the use of motorcycles.
Copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the concerned offices for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action.
