Teener sues dad for rape

GATTARAN, Cagayan – A 40-year-old father is now in jail for allegedly raping his own 13-year-old daughter in this north-central Cagayan town.

Chief Insp. Josel Pagulayan, town police chief, said charges have been filed before the provincial prosecutor’s office in Aparri town against the suspect for raping his daughter last April 27.

“(The suspect) did not suspect that his daughter would go and report the matter to us. He was thus caught by surprise when we nabbed him at his home,” Pagulayan told newsmen.

Based on the victim’s complaint, police said, the suspect, a market porter, went home drunk at around 11 p.m. on April 27 and, after some struggle and beatings, forced himself on his daughter.

The suspect allegedly threatened his daughter with a bolo and cutter while forcing himself on her.

Despite the suspect’s threats to kill her if she disclosed her ordeal, the girl went to report it to authorities with her aunt leading to the immediate filing of charges against the father and his eventual arrest.

The victim’s mother reportedly works in Manila while her two siblings were away when the alleged incident occurred.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Aparri.

Just recently, also in Gattaran, a 50-year-old school school head was charged with sexual molestation and harassment charges for allegedly molesting two graduating high school students.

Police identified the suspect as Jery Castillejo, principal of Gattaran Calaoagan Dakkel National High School, who is now facing charges before the Cagayan prosecutor’s office.

The victims, police said, claimed they were abused by the suspect in separate instances in March 10 and 13 at his office with the alleged condition that they will be getting passing grades, and eventually graduate from high school if they give in to his advances.
