2 construction workers murdered in Sadanga

SADANGA, Mountain Province -- Two men working for PBO Construction Company were found dead at a hill at Barangay Tabrac here in this municipality.

Bodies of the victims as of presstime were placed at the morgue of Bontoc General Hospital.

Police reports from the provincial police office said bodies of Edmund Rivera Diaz, 34, from Lanna, Tabuk, Kalinga and driver for PBO and Ben Balasi, 41, from Gobgob, Tabuk and equipment operator for PBO firm were found dead at a nearby hill, not far from the office of the construction firm.

Initial reports said victims went to a nearby store to buy some items and didn’t return.

Reports said fragments of the bullet-riddled heads of the victims were found at the crime scene.

The incident reportedly happened around 8 to 9 p.m. on June 2. The amount of P20,000 was reportedly missing from one of the victims.

Suspects were not identified as of presstime.

Said firm has been doing road construction here since December last year.
