Smokers can kill themselves in city hall: Domogan

BAGUIO CITY – Smokers will be spared an area at city hall here where they will be allowed to kill themselves once Rep. Mauricio Domogan will start holding office as mayor-elect of this city.
Domogan also announced that he will be implementing a ‘no smoking and drinking’ policy inside the city hall and other government offices.
“Promotion of a better lifestyle should start within offices in city hall," Domogan said. "I have done this during my time as the Janitor of the City not only for healthy lifestyle but also in promoting better services of people in city hall,"
He added public offices including offices of public officials in the city hall will monitored strictly.
“People that will be caught smoking and drinking in offices will be apprehended and penalized,” Domogan said. “Even public officials who will not follow will be penalized more.”
Domogan, speaking during the Healthy lifestyle Program under Department of Health last week said he supports the campaign of the health department for a better and healthier lifestyle.
Lifestyle- related diseases, also known as non-communicable diseases, are some of the leading causes of death in the country and the regionm according to the DOH.
Non-communicable diseases are a result of poor lifestyle choices such as drug use, alcohol and tobacco use, diet, lack of exercise or stress management, according to DOH.
