Cagayan town vice mayor’s truck ambushed; 1 slain, 3 hurt

CITY, Cagayan -- A woman was killed while three others were seriously
wounded in an ambush in Piat, Cagayan on Wednesday.
The fatality was identified as Eunice
Malliorca.
The driver of the vehicle and husband of
the fatality, Rex Anthony; their eight-year-old son Jaybie, and Simeon Balloran
were wounded and brought to the Tuao District Hospital for treatment.
The two other children of the couple were
unhurt.
The victims were in a pickup owned by
Rizal town Vice Mayor Joel Ruma when they were waylaid in Barangay Dugayung.
Police said Balloran and Rex Anthony,
both Ruma’s aides, were tagged in the killing of Rizal Councilor Alfredo
Alvarez last year.
An investigation is ongoing.
