Benguet solon gives gov’t hospital P2.5M gears for Covid-19 workers

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- ACT-CIS Representative and Benguet congressional caretaker Eric Go Yap donated more than P2.5 million-worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other hospital supplies for frontliners of the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH). fighting against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Benguet Congressional
District coordinator Anthony Kuan turned over the personal donations of Yap to
BeGH chief of Hospital Dr. Meliarazon Dulay and Vice Gov. Johnny Waguis on
March 30.
The donation included 30
thermal scanners, 1,500 hazmat suits,
1,500 N95 masks, 140 boxes surgical
gloves, 240 boxes of facemasks, 900 pieces goggles, 600 gallons
and two drums of alcohol and 14 pieces acrylic box.
Kuan said the donation
would ensure BeGH medical workers will have enough PPEs and
supplies while attending to persons under investigation, persons under
monitoring and possible COVID-19 positive cases.
Recently, the Dept. of
Health-Cordillera confirmed two COVID-19 positive cases in the
province, both from La Trinidad town.
Yap earlier donated also
P1 million to the provincial government of Benguet to support the fight against
the COVID-19 in the province. The lawmaker also distributed vitamins for senior
citizens of the province.
Yap said he was negative
of the COVID-19 disease with the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine
correcting that the positive result earlier reported was due to an encoding
error.
