2 NPA amazons, 1 supporter yield to authorities in Isabela

SAN MARIANO, Isabela – Two female New People’s Army (NPA) rebels and one of their supporters surrendered to police and army operatives here recently.
Army Fifth Infantry Division spokesperson Maj. Jekyll Julian D. Dulawan bared this at Camp Melchor Dela Cruz in Upi, Gamu town identifying the NPA amazons as “Ka Grace” and “Ka Lita”, who were reportedly supply officers of the Komiteng Rehyon- Cagayan Valley.
The NPA supporter, who surrendered to the authorities, was identified as “Dalisay,” a member of the Milisyang Bayan, an NPA support group. She also surrendered an m-16 rifle.
Dulawan said the 95th Infantry Battalion and local police worked out surrender of the two NPA amazons and the former MB member.
In a related development, Dulawan said operatives of the 95th IB found an M16 rifle and a carbine M1 rifle in an NPA area in Barangay Cadsalan, San Mariano.
