Soldier kills superior in Cagayan

ALCALA, Cagayan -- An Army sergeant was shot dead by his subordinate following an argument here in Barangay Piggatan on Monday. 

A police report said the incident occurred when Cpl. Rickson Rulloda confronted Sgt. Paulino Gavino Jr. for assigning him to another unit.
    Gavino was declared dead on arrival at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
    Rulloda surrendered and turned over the 9mm pistol he used in shooting Gavino.
    Rulloda was charged with murder before the Department of Justice.

 

Female cop dies in Santiago City highway accident

SANTIAGO, Isabela -- A policewoman died while four others were injured when their vehicle crashed into a concrete wall of a subdivision here on Feb. 20. 

Patrolman Archelle Duldulao died at the scene while her companions were taken to a hospital for treatment.
        Reports said the driver lost control of the wheel after one of the tires burst as the vehicle was traveling in Barangay Sinsayon.
