4 Benguet, Kalinga cops cited for anti-drugs ops

Trinidad, Benguet - The Police Regional Office Cordillera awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP medal of merit) to
four Cordillera cops for accomplishments against illegal drugs during traditional Monday flag raising ceremony here
April 19.
PROCor police director awarded the medals to PLT Gideon A. Bennaguen, PMSg John Ray S Date, lt. Lyster W. Abag and Cpl Neil M Agyao.
Bennaguen and Date, both from Benguet Police Provincial Office, were awarded for their efforts in marijuana eradication that resulted in the destruction of P12.64 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants on March 7 to 11 at Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.
Abag, of Regional Intelligence Division and Agyao of Kalinga PPO, were commended for buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of Ruben Buccay Appag and confiscation of dried marijuana bricks weighing 18.393 kilos valued at P2, 207, 247 at Barangay Lucog, Tabuk City, Kalinga on April 7.
The awarding of medals is based on the National Police Commission memorandum circular 93-018 “Prescribing the authorized decorations, service medals, ribbons and badges of the Philippine National Police” in due recognition to personnel’s outstanding performance of police functions and activities.
