Barangay kagawad shot dead in Abra

BANGUED, Abra – A barangay councilman of Tangadan, San Quintin, this province, was shot dead recently by his neighbor.

Chief Supt. Raul S. Gonzales, regional director of the Police Regional Office in the Cordillera, identified the victim as Apolonio Saluda Gazmen, 52, married councilman of Tangadan, San Quintin, in this conflict-rocked province.
He was considered by anticrime crusaders here as the best kagawad in their village.

The alleged assailant was identified as Jongjong Cardenas who reportedly used a Cal. 45 pistol.

Investigation conducted by San Quintin police showed that the victim was on his way to see his carabao in his farm when he was shot by Gazmen. -- Dexter See
