SAN JUAN, La Union – The decomposing body of a German national was found July 10 in his house here at Montemar Village, Barangay Ili Norte, believed to be the victim of a love triangle.
The body was found three days after he was reported missing. Police identified the victim as Eberhard Peter Klaus Rust, 67, former worker of a softdrinks and appliance company in Germany.
He was receiving regular pension from Germany. Police said he was killed. Investigators are looking into love triangle as the motive behind the death of the foreigner.
Aside from love triangle, La Union police director Sr. Supt. Franklin Bucayu said, his investigators are also looking into other possible motives such as robbery and disagreement among his lovers over the question of who will inherit his properties once he dies.
It might be a love triangle because the victim had been involved with different women,” Bucayu said.
Autopsy results show that Rust suffered 13 stab wounds on different parts of the body. He also suffered a fractured skull.
