DAGUPAN CITY – A regional trial court judge in Pangasinan, who had survived an ambush attempt, has been receiving death threats, police said.
RTC Judge Ulyesses Raciles Butuyan of Branch 51 is noted here for the controversial cases he is handling.
Butuyan said he escaped death when his supposed killers committed a mistake on the date of his arrival from the US.
It was learned that armed men had been spotted near his residence on the day the judge was expected to arrive from the US.
The armed men were not identified, but the judge believed that it had something to do with the death threats he had been receiving. – Jerry Padilla
