2 men held for illegal logging in PMA area

FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City — Two residents of Barangay Kias here were arrested and turned over to the Baguio City Police Office after they were caught redhanded illegally cutting trees within the Philippine Military Academy reservation.
The military men who apprehended the two suspects confiscated the sawn pine trees and the illegal logging paraphernalia.
However, three of the suspects’ companions escaped.
Chief Supt. Eugene G. Martin, director of the Police Regional Office in the Cordillera, identified the arrested illegal logging suspects as Johnny Carling Umaming, 45, married, and Aldy Mariano Unos, 20, single, residents of Purok 5 and 7, respectively, Barangay Kias, Baguio City. -- Dexter See
