Kalinga solon launches 12 livelihood projects

TABUK, Kalinga -- Twelve livelihood projects were recently launched by the office of the congressman for non- agricultural industries and ventures in the province.

Rep. Manuel Agyao urged beneficiaries to implement well the projects saying these were “intended to give decent income to our less fortunate families who are industrious and willing to engage in any of the livelihood ventures.”

In support to the program, provincial director Grace Baluyan of the Department of Trade and Industry encouraged the beneficiaries to be aware of their obligation and responsibility on the success of their project.

She cited need for beneficiaries to organize to be able to avail the support of other government agencies and for them to come up with their business plans to be able to manage and sustain their chosen projects.

Launched during the event were orange propagation by the local government of Balbalan. Others were livelihood projects on coffee, banana, ube, mushroom and unoy rice propagation, pottery making, blacksmith, loom weaving, meat processing, basi making and soap making. -- GGD
