Former BF fetches girl whose body is found the next day

CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur — Police are still looking for the killer of a teenage girl whose was found in a sugarcane field in Barangay Gongogong, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur Feb. 26.

A day before the body was found, the girl was reportedly fetched by his former boyfriend near their residence in San Vicente town.

Senior Insp. Venancio Tabula, San Ildefonso chief of police, identified the victim as Mary Ann Flores, 17, first-year student of the University of Northern Philippines of Barangay Bayubay, San Vicente.

Investigation showed the victim suffered severe injuries in the head and body. She was bludgeoned with hard objects, resulting in her death.

“We are in the process of investigating the incident in an effort to identify the killer,” Tabula said. -- Freddie Lazaro
