4 held in Isabela student's killing
SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela– Police are holding four suspects in the killing of a 23-year-old computer science student whose body bearing 37 stab wounds was fished out from a creek here last week.
Supt. Reynaldo Sinaon, city police chief, said the victim, Greg Teñeza, and the suspects, who belonged to the same fraternity, were all drunk when the killing, supposedly sparked by an altercation, happened. – CL
Isabela village chief slain
ILAGAN, Isabela– Another village chief in the province was killed – the 12th in the past two years – while attending a wake in Alicia town last week, police said.
Chief Insp. Renato Birung, Alicia deputy police chief, said Barangay Sikat chairman Eleuterio Villasana, 46, was shot twice in the head, while a certain Marlon Velasco was wounded in the foot and abdomen. – CL
